Seattle - No More Route I-90!!

We made it to Seattle just after lunch today. Finally! We've made it to the West Coast and can say goodbye to I-90. We have driven that road from one end to the other, and I have to say I won't miss it! I have no pictures for you today, because the internet connection in our room is non-existent! I'm writing this from the roof-top deck of our hotel...wouldn't you think a hotel in the middle of Seattle would have better wi-fi?? Oh, well...not the end of the world! And, no, there is no rooftop bar!

Seattle is a great city! Our hotel is in Seattle Center, and we took the Monorail downtown. From there we walked toward the waterfront and strolled through Pike Market Place. It's crazy! There are what seems like miles & miles of booths with everything you could possibly think of for sale...trinkets, art, jewelry, clothing, fresh fruit & veggies, meat, fish, and the most gorgeous flowers you ever saw! The fish vendors are famous for throwing fish, but you have to get there early in the morning for that so we missed it. Then we took a walk down by the waterfront, which is absolutely wonderful. You can see the mountains in the distance, there are markets, restaurants and shops everywhere, and just lots to see. Then it was back to the hotel to relax a bit before we head back to the waterfront for dinner. There are some wonderful waterfront places that specialize in fresh native seafood, so we're going to splurge a little tonight.

We're still trying to figure out our plan for tomorrow. We may take a ferry to Bainbridge Island, drive around the Olympic Peninsula to see the rain forest and then head to Mt. St. Helen, or we could head straight to Mt. St. Helen and then into Oregon. I'll post some pictures from Seattle when I can, but for tonight I'm going to enjoy!
